And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no person is to separate” (Matthew 19:4-6, New American Standard Bible).

American society tells us that gender is a psychological and social construct. Jesus said that God made the first people (and us) male and/or female. God chose whether we are male or female. He knew what He was doing when He made you.

He also said that God joins a man and woman together as “one flesh.” American courts claim that marriage is a legal institution, created by the state and that the state has the right to redefine it. Once again, they are arguing against God Himself.

To the married: God stands at the center of your marriage. Look to Him. Draw yourselves to Him, and He will draw you together.

To the single persons who are seeking a spouse: God has offered to draw you together with someone. Ask Him to guide you. Let your dating and romantic relationships be guided by Him. Let dating and courtship become an opportunity to worship together and minister in Jesus’ name to one another. Let the Lord guide you. Since “God is love” (1 John 4:8), let Him bind you in love to one another.

Let God guide you in your relationships all of your days as He directs your life.
