In Christ, light and life hold a deeper meaning: “In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men” (John 1:4). The life Jesus brings is the light of men. Life and light are intertwined.
“You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life” (John 5:39–40).
