Christians already have Jesus living in them. They share in His righteousness. All righteousness begins with Christ in us.
Many Christians seek to gain righteousness before God by following rules. This often leads to creating rules that God did not intend.
People have very different ideas about righteousness, and many Christians exhibit different kinds. Some are better than others. One of the worst kinds of “righteousness” is a false one, self-righteousness.
