
Since some people believe Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 5 conflicts with Paul’s teaching about salvation through faith, I share thoughts on the meaning of faith based on a theory about behavior and attitudes from psychology.

But it is not this way among you; rather, whoever wants to become prominent among you shall be your servant; and whoever wants to be first among you shall be slave of all.

The rich young man would not accept Jesus’ call to sell all he owned, give the money to the poor, and follow Him. How would we respond? What do we hold onto that keeps us from following Jesus wherever He leads?

The Transfiguration reminds us that Jesus revealed the glory of God. It should also encourage us to allow His glory to shine through us.

Jesus said He did not come to abolish the Old Testament legal system, but to fulfill it. By looking at these terms from a carpenter’s perspective, we can see this statement in a different light.
